Free Packing Slip Templates

The Packing Slip Templates are ordinary business documents that are utilized to describe the contents of the package being transported. This simple slip is generally utilized in packaging for commercial transactions when a single seller sends a package against an international order. It functions as an official record for the domestic or international shipping of goods. This template serves as authorization, a receipt, and a confirmation for the sending of commercial items.

The most common usage of packing slips is for international or interstate commerce. They are particularly utilized when shipping out valuable and sensitive items such as financial documents, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. These types of slips are also used during the customs clearance inspection of shipments. This process is done by the customs of the sending country or state. The purpose of this document is to describe a description of the contents of a package in general terms and is not specific regarding the safety of the items being shipped.

Format of Packing Slip Templates

Most packing slips consist of the name or address of the sender, date, recipient, quantity, and value of the item being shipped, as well as the country or location of delivery. There are variations to these general descriptions. For instance, for intra-embassy transfers, the names of both parties and the date and invoice number of the senders and receivers are necessary, while standard templates only require the names and addresses. The quantity is typically indicated by the use of figures, expressed in units of kilograms (in some instances, metric figures are also acceptable), and the value is indicated in terms of US Dollars or kilograms with the appropriate conversion factors. The standard does not specify any symbols for quantities.

The content descriptions are commonly found in standard packing slip templates. Some companies create product images from scratch and may require additional information about each image to accompany it. This information may be printed on an additional paper from which the package will be created, or it can be input directly into the template. The company may also choose to have the invoice appear in reverse, which would require the sender to insert a sheet of paper into the package that corresponds to the letter’s location in the shipment.

Advantages of Packing Slip Templates

Expressing the Details: Packing slips are used to express detailed descriptions of individual items. Examples include a list of all items in an inventory, a list of all purchases in a customer order list, a list of all service or support tickets in a database, a list of all taxes due for a single item, and so forth. The information can be printed on standard paper or on an itemized slip, which is a preprinted sheet that can be utilized for nearly any situation. Items may be listed alphabetically or according to groupings or categories. Lists may be based on a sales order or an invoice.

Packing Slips can be used as Invoices: The other major benefit of using a 4×6 label or an itemized packing slip is that it aids in creating invoices. For example, a company’s billing procedures may call for an itemized invoice when the amount due for a particular service or product is completely different from the total invoice received for that service or item. In these situations, the invoice generated from the company’s software has all of the relevant information for the itemized invoice. For example, the address, date, invoice number, sales tax amount, and other pertinent information are included. This enables a person to simply enter all of this data, which is then converted into the appropriate invoice number for shipping purposes.

Consistency of Information: Another advantage to using these templates is that the information on the label is consistent. Every time an invoice or a packing slip is printed, it will read the same. This is because the laser-cut parts that form part of these templates have been formatted into a consistent shape. This ensures that the information printed on the label is as close to the actual label as possible, and customers will read the label with ease. When an invoice or a packing slip arrives at the correct address, it makes it much easier for a recipient to make the correct change or corrections to the bill.
